IT Technician / Network Engineer

We are looking for a skilled and customer-focused IT Technician / Network Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in installing and configuring ONTs, customer routers, and other networking equipment in residential and commercial environments. This role involves fieldwork, technical troubleshooting, and ensuring high-quality service delivery to end users.

Key Responsibilities:

• Install, configure, and test Optical Network Terminals (ONTs) and customer routers at client premises.
• Perform site surveys and assess installation requirements.
• Ensure proper cabling, signal strength, and connectivity during installations.
• Troubleshoot and resolve network issues related to ONT, router, and Wi-Fi performance.
• Educate customers on equipment usage and basic troubleshooting.
• Maintain accurate records of installations, configurations, and service calls.
• Collaborate with support teams to escalate and resolve complex issues.
• Adhere to safety standards and company protocols during field operations.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

• Proven experience in installing ONTs and configuring routers (e.g., MikroTik, TP-Link, Cisco, etc.).
• Strong understanding of fiber optics, Ethernet, and wireless networking.
• Ability to diagnose and resolve connectivity issues efficiently.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.
• Basic knowledge of IP addressing, DHCP, NAT, and firewall settings.
• Valid UK driving licence (if field-based).
• Relevant certifications (e.g., CompTIA Network+, Cisco CCNA) are a plus.

Preferred Experience:

• Experience working with ISPs or telecom providers.
• Familiarity with infrastructure providers like OFNL, CityFibre, or Openreach.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple installations per day.
